Visual Perspectives
In the past we have hung our photographs in Newton City Hall on the second floor gallery only, this year we also have the first floor gallery and the stairwells on either side of the main entrance! This curated show is a wonderful opportunity for you to display one photography, and potentially up to five, as single images or as a diptych or triptych. And because of how much space we have, we have loosened the size restrictions (see the Guidelines section below).
You must be a paid up for the 2026-2027 season to participate. Please pay your dues now if need be before uploading images to DropBox.
Other Programming
We are also offering the opportunity for you to host an artist talk or other creative program designed to showcase your work. Stay tuned for more information.
Publicity
We will be selecting one or more images to use for PR. If you DO NOT want your photo used for this, please email us and let us know.
Questions?
If you have any questions, please email the print show team as soon as possible.
Guidelines
Please review these guidelines carefully before submitting your images.
Image Selection
1. You can submit up to 5 images. Everyone who submits will be able to display at least one.
2. If you would like us to consider any group of two or three images to be hung together as a diptych or triptych, you will be asked to indicate this on the intake form by listing each of the titles in the group in the order you would like them to be hung from left to right (e.g., 1-My Dog, 2-My Iguana, 3-Group of My Pets).
3. Select ONLY images that have not been exhibited in an NCC print or online show. You may submit images from NCC competitions, critiques, and mini-shows or images that have been in sales or shows elsewhere.
Image Presentation
1. Minimum frame size is 11x14 or 154 square inches (11 x 14 = 154 square inches).
2. Maximum frame size is 48” on the long side.
These are the show-specific image requirements. Refer to the Framing Guidelines for more information about frames, mats, and alternative presentation options that apply to all print shows.
How to Submit
Submitting to the Newton City Hall Show is a two-part process. You must submit your images using the Dropbox button on this page AND you must fill out a Google form with all your image information.
1. Create a JPG, sRGB color space, sized to 1920 pixels on the long side.
2. Name your images using the file naming convention: Full Name_Title_Size_$Price . For example: Nicole Mordecai_Lovely Pet Image_18x24_$295
Please use your "Full Name" as you would like it printed on an image label.
"Title" is the title of your image with spaces between the words.
"Size" of the image should be the framed size with the width first followed by the height.
Add the price at the end
NOTE: please use an underscore between elements, as indicated.
3. Submit your images using the Dropbox button. Please be sure you are logged out any Dropbox account before submitting files.
4. Complete the Newton City Hall Show Intake Form. Before you begin, be sure you have the following information for each image: Exact file name, title, size of image, outer dimensions of the frame, year created, price, and a 1-3 sentence description of each image for the image label. You will also be asked if the image is part of a diptych or triptych. If the answer is yes, be prepared to list the titles of the other 1 or 2 images in the grouping.
