Opus 2 Life Solo Exhibits


Have you been showing one or two photographs in group exhibits and are ready to take the next step and curate a small solo show of up to seven photographs? If so, this is the perfect opportunity for you to present a small exhibit focused on a theme, concept, subject, or visual approach at Opus 2 Life Newton.


Opus is a new senior residence in Newton located at 777 Winchester Street. The Newton Camera Club has a dedicated wall in a well-trafficked lobby on the first floor. We are using this space to give photographers who are ready to show a small body of work an opportunity to curate a solo exhibit in a welcoming residential environment.


We are now accepting proposals for four three-month solo exhibits. Please follow the guidelines below to submit your application.


Timeline

  • Rotation #1: November, December, January

  • Rotation #2: February, March, April

  • Rotation #3: May, June, July

  • Rotation #4: August, September, October


Deadlines and Notification

  • Submission Deadline: October 1, 2026

  • Notification of Rotation #1: October 8th

  • Notification of Rotations #2, #3, and #4 shortly after






Guidelines

How to Apply

  1. Decide your preference(s) among the four rotations. You can apply for one, two, three, or all four rotations.

  2. Title your exhibit.

  3. Write a short, one- or two-paragraph artist statement of your work. Think in terms of a cohesive theme, concept, subject, or visual approach.

  4. Curate the lineup of your images on the wall. The hanging rail on our wall is 18 feet long. Make sure your curation fits this space.

  5. Prepare up to seven images in the order you plan to exhibit them.

  6. Name your files using this scheme: Firstname_Lastname_Title_[outer frame size width x height]_[number from left to right], e.g., Ellen_Foust_Clouds_18x24_01, Ellen_Foust_Pond_18x24_02, etc…Ellen_Foust_Sky_24x18_07

  7. File format:  .jpg 

  8. Image size for online submission: 1920 px on the long side


How to Submit

  • Once your images are prepared, click the SUBMIT button on this page. You will be taken to a form to fill out

  • Fill out the form

  • Click the Dropbox link on the form to upload your images

  • This exhibit opportunity is open to all Newton Camera Club members in good standing. Please pay your dues now if need be before filling out the application form.

  • Applications will be accepted online only by filling out the form accessible via the SUBMIT button above.

  • After filling out the form, please use the link on the form to upload your photos to Dropbox.
