The photos should be taken at full dark, generally in between an hour after sunset and an hour before sunrise.  Photos can include any subject matter. Natural and artificial lighting can be present as long as they neither create nor eliminate the experience of nighttime. Photos can be indoors or outdoors as long as it is clearly nighttime.
